Before wrap, the cells worth looking at
Seven cells. Two minutes. Before the card leaves your hands.
- Card / roll (
Tape,Camroll,Soundroll). Transcribed, not generated: blank means nobody typed it. Ask once at wrap, while the magazine is still on the table. - In-point timecode (
Start). What the camera showed when it rolled. Blank means it was never recorded — and there is no later step that recovers it. - Out-point timecode (
End,TC Out). Copied off the camera's screen at the moment you call stop. Nothing copied, the cell stays empty and the reconcile sheet names itTC_OUT_MISSING; the software will not advance the in-point by a duration to fill it in. - Sync sound pair (
Soundroll+Sound TC). A sync take wants both. One without the other is the shape that breaks matching in the suite. - Source file (
Source File Name,Source File). The link to the actual media. Not transcribed, not invented by us. - Drop-frame declaration (
TC Mode).DFappears only where the camera's menu was read. Blank is no declaration — not non-drop-frame. - Ownership (
Shoot Day,Shoot date,Unit). A take belonging to no shooting day leaves these blank, and that day's paperwork cannot be rebuilt from anything else.
Two rulers, and they are meant to differ. Duration in the machine-readable files is the frame-accurate span between the in-point and the out-point, head and tail included. Your stopwatch — how long the action actually ran, with preroll, the slate and a director who rolls early inside it — now travels beside it as SlateX Set Time. When the two disagree, the reconcile sheet marks the row so somebody looks; it changes nothing, and the gap is not automatically an error.
The sheet that lists them for you. A single-day export can carry a reconcile sheet: twelve codes naming what is missing or self-contradictory in our own record, including DAY_VOIDED for a day you have voided — the paperwork still prints as a record, but that file is not a conform reference. It reads neither the camera report nor the sound report, so "consistent" on that sheet means our checks found nothing — it is not two departments agreeing.
